About START
START is the Sexual Trauma-Informed Advocacy Resource Team, formerly known as the Student Title IX Assistance Resource Team on campus. START is a confidential peer-led resource for students. Students can schedule to have a private meeting with START to receive support on a variety of issues (listed on our about page). Individual Support
One-on-One Meetings
START offers private, confidential meetings for students seeking support on experiences with any form of gender-based violence, sexual violence, harassment and stalking. START also helps with navigating and understanding the Title IX process at CC as well as provides information on consent and healthy relationships.
Title IX Accessibility and Options
Empowering Others
If a survivor chooses to take the formal resolution route by filing with the Title IX office, Title IX can be confusing for those who have never had experience with the office or reporting process. START seeks to create greater accessibility of Title IX by providing explanations on what the process looks like and how to file a report. START also offers clarity on resolution options outside of formal reporting, such as mediation and transformative justice practices.

START hosts several events on campus such as presentations on spiking, reporting options, and more. START also hosts book talks and movie screenings to discuss healthy relationships and domestic violence. START also co-hosts two prominent events on campus, Take Back the Night and TedSex.
